This looks very good.I'd suggest once we have done this to revive a discussion about the Home Page based on Caty's work:
http://incubator.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Improvements/XWikiOrgProposal2The current xwiki.org page really needs a revamp. We don't necessarly need to do everything that is in Caty's proposal. But we need for sure to revamp the entry point and give the "General Links" a more proeminent space and clean the "Getting Started" section which is highly outdated.

Hi, I've implemented the proposed version enterprise http://enterprise.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download manager http://manager.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download watch http://watch.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download xeclipse http://xeclipse.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download xoffice http://xoffice.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download Please vote on this versions. This variant deprecates xwiki:Main.Download and will need also a change in Panels.Download that will relate to the local Main.Download instead of the global xwiki: link. The feedback form is activated so we will receive the messages, but there is only one general form and the messages are redirected just to one email address. Some developer needs to fix this in order for the companies checkbox to work. Thanks, Caty On Thu, Feb 17, 2011 at 16:05, Vincent Massol<[email protected]> wrote:Hi Caty, That's good to me. I believe it's a good first version that we can tune later on. I'm +1 to implement it like this for now. I'vediscussedit more with Gregory and Emilie and here's what we'd like to proposenow:* Add a Profesional Services heading on the download which would contain ** Some text explaining about community support and linking to http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Support (which alreadydescribescommunity support) ** A livetable containing companies offering professional services for XWiki. The columns would be: *** Logo *** Company name *** Number of active committers *** Link to the correct anchor on the Support page ( http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Support) ** The livetable would only show 3 entries ** The livetable would be sorted by active committers by default ** A text that explains how to add a new company to the list and which would point to the Governance page ( http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/Governance) * We will remove the current XWiki SAS support link since thatinformationwill be moved to the livetable * Rework the download page so that when a download link is clicked, it opens a new page containing the feedback questionnaire while thedownloadhappens ** Note that for this to be technically possible I propose to remove the link to the OW2 mirrors and instead link to the only existing mirror(OW2seems to have only 1...). If not, we would need some code to computewhichOW2 mirror to use based on the location. * The feedback questionnaire page would contain the following: ** The following questionnaire:http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Drafts/SatisfactionSurveyProducts(let'stune the questions together)** The questionnaire would start with a first question asking to which companies it should be sent to. We would list all companies offering professional support (using checkboxes) with a special text for the topone("Top contributor") and in parenthesis listing the number of active committers. For example: [ ] XWiki SAS - Top contributor with 15 active committers [ ] Softec - 1 active committer ** A text explaining that it's optional and what the questionnaire willbeused for, i.e. that *** it will be published anonymously on xwiki.org to improve theproduct*** it will be sent to the companies for which the user has checked theboxWe've tried to design this proposal with taking 2 ideas into account: 1) that it's fair and that all companies can have a fair visibility 2) that it's visible which companies contribute the most (to rewardtheircontributions) WDYT?
