Again -- dlpi/Solaris x86
As I see, starting with pl 18 there was a corrections for dlpi code and dhcpd should
work
on Solaris/x86. I just compiled it (as noted at my previous letter), and it doesn't
work
for me with default dlpi interface (dhcpd 2.0b1pl27 on Solaris 2.6 x86). It is may be
my
error (I compiled it using egcc 1.1.2 2.91.66), or it may be common problem (with
_some_
machines as noted for pl2 as 18 Nov 1998 -- see
http://www.webnology.com/list-archives/dhcp/dhcp-server/199811/msg00178.html). So I
trying
to find the source of a problem, but now I doesn't have enouth info about network
packets
(Solaris's snoop sees IEEE 802.3 (LLC/802.3) packet from server after dhcp's ICMP echo
request --
can it happen in case of incorrect byte ordering of packet's header, for example?) -
can I
find some docs about low-level network packet formats (ether, ip, etc?) Or maybe some
gurus in that area can point me to the right direction?
Thanks in advise.
