It has a lot of good ideas but the problem is it replicates a lot of functionality found in lower level libraries and does not provide a complete solution ala gtk so its a bit of and oddball. Basically you can add enlightenment but generally it does not replace anything. Evas for example is cool but its not a complete 2D stack like cairo so you end up looking at cairo on evas then wonder why am i using evas ?
But I do agree with the overall high level design he is on the right track.
