and subversion is used for gcc 
it that a reason to switch?
i just use git to get an actual kernel tree to test some stuff,
not to manage sources

it doesnt have to but it may work out to this scenario.

ok, that counts in your case.
what about the other dev's? same probs or can they cope with the current 
developement

at least i am out of this discussion now, otherwise it may evolve into an 
endless
for-against thread.

my statements in a kind of summary
- you, denis, are the maintainer of this project
- if you decide to go for git, go for it
- i dont like this idea and the idea of distributed repositories
- wait for other statements of e.g. ville, claudio, mike....
