Hi, we are developping on ARM processor too. Up to now our applications run on Xorg 6.8.2 X server, but we would like to improve performances (memory, speed, ...). We tested TinyX, but no significant improvements have been noticed. At the moment we' re investigating on XDirectFB, but unfortunately we're still not able to run it with success. We got XDirectFB executable with libraries and default applications from Xorg 6.8.2 monolithic package and from cvs version of XdirectFB (two days ago). We are using DirectFB library package DirectFB-1.0.0-rc4.tar.gz downloaded from www.directfb.org. We posted the obtained error yesterday.
We read that Lloyd is quite satisfied by XDirectFB usage on his ARM hw. Can you please tell us the procedure to build XDirectFB correctly with the version of all packages (XDirectFB, Xorg or Xfree, DirectFB, others...)? Thank you in advance Stae Painted Lloyd Sargent wrote: > >> I haven't used XDirectFB on an embedded device, yet. >> >> I'd also be interested in any experience report :) > > We are currently using it on an ARM processor for about 3 months now and > have > been very pleased with the results.
