I'm using a pixel format that looks like this:

BBBBBBGG GGGGRRRR RRxxxxxx

So it uses 24 bits per pixel but packs the 18 relevant pixels within 
those 24 bits.

I don't know if the last 6 bits (the x:es) are used for something.

When running DirectFB this is automatically reported as RGB18.

Example applications like skull and neo runs fine, but there are 
problems: writing text from ft2 fonts etc.
