Thanks for the precisation.  Good point.  I fixed the confusing terminology 
on trunk. :-)

Yes, that is an excellent suggestion, I changed it that way -- so 
if anyone is testing, please use

 ./configure --with-layout=fhs

to test the FHS filesystem layout! ;-)
