This is the problem, not really a problem since there's no solution other
then waiting.
I have domain.com, which was registered under NSI
Domain.com is what we would like to be our domain for our primary name
servers on a new server cluster we're moving to. In the meantime I would
have liked to be able to transfer all the domains to a new newserver
address under that domain that points to the ip's of the new server build.
So, old nameserver was oldserver.domain.com, new name server is
newserver.domain.com. Since domain.com is an NSI thing, I'm forced to
using their lame forms and such to make changes. I wanted to point some
opensrs registered domains to newserver.domain.com, but since domain.com
is not an opersrs domain, opensrs will not allow it.
I hope this makes sense, it doesn't to me, heh, but the overall point is
it's a large pain to do such things when you're in limbo with domain
transfers. I have about 200 domains to follow. Once out primary domain
gets switch over to opensrs, it should make things less difficult.
Funny thing about NSI is that I've switched a domain over, it said the
changes were complete, 3 days ago, yet no actual changes appear to have
taken place. It's just frustrating. There have been times where NSI was
great, but not this time. The method of controlling these types of things
should be very simple. Opensrs and other such competitors seem to be
trying to make things as easy as possible, the only thing I don't like is
the wait time.
