I'll restate then, that an ICANN mandate could, in theory, change
overnight and require client-side code changes to be able to register
the domains. (RFC's require a little more effort).
Let the software reject it on the basis of it being taken.
Does this portion of the code differentiate between .com and .co.uk
(e.g., could I register x.co.uk without the software complaining,
since ICANN has nothing to do with .uk?)
