I think if, I remember right, if there is no reseller, you will contact the
domainholder directly at renewal time and provide them a list of alternate
resellers to choose from. As long as they still have their password, they
can manage their account in the meantime anyway, so it's no hurry.
On the other hand, if they don't have their password, it needs to be
transferred right away so that some RSP has it in their RWI to re-send the
password. If they wanted to renew immediately for whatever reason, though,
would that be valid, too, or would you just say "Tough, you'll have to wait"
?
