Good point actually Swerve. As the original poster said, it seems to be since the 
announcement of the new up-and-coming tlds. So
maybe people are saying - "Ok, lets wait. Don't register in the flogged to death (20 
million names now) com domain, but wait till a
more apporpriate one comes up"
