I can not believe that a class-action and a Federal investigation wasn't
launched against this mess months ago. The dunning is now for a TWO YEAR
renewal..$70.
Companies that have committed far less serious and less organized cons have
been shut down and crucified in far less time. Network Solutions is running
a scam here. They know it. We know it. It's organized and it's deliberate.
With their programming resources they could fix the issue in a week or less.
The invoices are generated from a Unix print spool....run the invoices and
the dunning notice jobs against their own whois database and DROP THE
RECORDS which aren't theirs. When you call their customer service droids
they'll swear that you owe the invoice, that's it valid and that there is no
mistake. Then ask them to look up the domain with their own whois and you'll
hear dead silence...then "Looks like you're right".
They are in no hurry to do this because THEY KNOW THEY ARE MAKING MONEY
MAILING THE BOGUS INVOICES and they know they are screwing the competing
registrars.
Someone high up in Tucows needs to start making calls. I'll be making some
calls to some media friends tomorrow. This is the type of dirt journalists
love.
For those of you who are tired of Monster Borg Corporations doing as they
please with impunity and are also tired of dealing with the extra customer
inquiries and opening and processing bogus invoices send these crooks a
message. These people could fix this in a week if they wanted to:
