I realise the requirement for a registrar to operate a whois server/service- but
I have in mind the fact that OpenSRS also provide registration services for at
least ".ca" and ".uk" domains as well, and accordingly, while fulfilling their
obligations to operate a whois server, there is also no reason why they
shouldn't offer a generic whois service for other tld's.
