The new contract looks done?  Sheesh I hope not.  There is widespread
opposition on the DNSO GA list to it, and it seems most of the
registrars oppose it as well.

I myself consider it to be a very bad agreement, that leaves open the
potential for more harm to the internet community that it would bring
in clear benefits.

The last minute nature of the "deal" is also leaving a very sour
aftertaste.

Is your personal take on it that such widespread efforts to get ICANN
to stick to the original contract are in vain?
