Here's the deal folks - we've made it obvious that when domains have left in
the past, that we've done nothing to block the transfers. We've also left
the information within the system due to a design assumption error that
Scott, Tom and I made waaaay back when. We also all agree that this is
heinous and goofy.
Our big issue right now is figuring out a) what our database currently says
(easy) b) what domain name we are authoritative for (harder). Ken has come
up with a methodology to take care of this and will working on scrubbing the
pipes over the coming days (I can't comment on what his timelines are, I
have no idea, but I bet he does). This doesn't solve the problem moving
forward, but it does solve it looking back. I also understand that Ken and
Scott are working on a permanent fix to make this go away forever.
Anyways, I just wanted to jump in and let you all know that this issue
*does* have our attention and we are diligently working on it...
