Jim,

One of my own tasks is to push forward with the "open source" movement of
OpenSRS and do exactly what you're talking about here - leverage outside
developers and our own efforts to maximize everyone's potential.  I just
have to get some traction - you WILL see things happening in the coming
months.

As for being vague with timelines - one thing I've personally learned over
the past year and a half with OpenSRS is we can't really say dates (or
even the month) in many cases, because timelines slip inevitably.
Sometimes, I don't personally know the timelines (heck, I can't know
everything) so I just say what I know - we're working on XXX, and it's
coming.

I'll try to keep up and keep you all posted.
