I was speaking more towards the profile (domain/user/pass) issue than the
handle issue.

I agree with the concept of registering handles with OpenSRS, even if they
are a somewhat behind the scenes entity -- for the thin registries, OSRS
changes the whois display, for the thick ones it submits a change request
to all domains which OSRS has that handle on record for.

That seems easy enough.

What I would really like to see is a seperation of OpenSRS and CIRA
profiles.  There are many times where I would like a new .ca registration
to be associated with an existing OpenSRS profile, but it can't be
associated with an existing CIRA profile, because it then adopts the CIRA
contact info for the original domain.
