This topic is probably old, but should not be. Jo is correct, this is a SERIOUS problem. Placing the name at the footer is causing a great deal of our customers to delete mail thinking the reminder is just a reminder and no more. NO ONE sees the domain name at the footer.
It is only when a domain expires and a customer calls us that they reveal this. Hey Scott, be a hero, have someone change this line of code. :) Better yet, Hey Ross ask Scott if he can be a hero and have someone change this line of code. Better yet, Hey Rick, can you have Ross ask Scott... (point is this would take seconds to fix) I'm sure Tucows is not that bureaucratic. Subject: RE: domain renewal notices customization I agree. I have had several customers say they didn't know which domain the reminder was for. I finally changed the messages to start like this: ** FIRST NOTICE ** We wish to notify you that the domain(s) listed at the very very bottom of this message, below our signature, is/are up for renewal.... Its placement at the bottom is stupid (how many people scroll past a signature?) and makes it very obvious that we don't have control over it. Perhaps instead of the date in the subject (since most email clients provide a date anyway), the domain could be put in there? Or place the domain and expiry at the top of the message.
