Verisign offers a "Expedited Transfer Service" (LOL - That's why they turn so many down and take forever!)-------------------END QUOTE -------------------------
First of all, I checked out this link and for a mere $199 I can have my site transferred in "two business days". Why would I do this?! Are they causing so much trouble with transfers that people are willing to pay $199 just to get away from them?
Now to change my tune: I have heard so many horror stories about Verisign and Net Sol and how difficult it is to transfer domains from them but I am going to stick my neck out and praise the competition (just a little) by saying that I have had nothing but courteous success from them. Perhaps they are getting better now that Verisign is in charge because yesterday morning I sent a request to transfer 7 domain names from Network Solutions and today they are already transferred and show up on the whois at the new registrar. Didn't cost me a penny. My only reason for transferring was their ridiculous annual price, and I am happy I did.
Considering the competitive positions of Net Sol and Open SRS do you think the slowness and problems with transfers I have seen mentioned time and again on this list is evidence that they are singling out OpenSRS It seems obvious to me that they are since I do not hear of the same problems from other registrars.
Just curious
Bob
