I doubt it. We have the same problem, as these individuals leave us as the tech contact on the domains.
I asked OpenSRS if we could remove ourselves from being the tech contact if we do not host the domain but the answer was no, the admin contact had to do it or set it up so that we could do it. Obviously if they are going to use the domain to spam they are not interested in having themselves nor their hosting company as the tech contact so they do not reply to our requests to remove us as tech contact. By leaving us as tech contact their hosting company does not receive the hate mail and telephone calls from the net vigilantes whose only passion in life is fighting spam. Trying to talk to a net vigilantes and explain our role as reseller is like hitting your head against a wall, it feels so good when you finally hung up on them in disgust. All they can say is you are listed as tech contact you should suspend the hosting of the domain for spamming. So we have started to refuse to renew domains when we have been presented proof they have been involved in spamming. When we receive their renewal order we tell them to find another OpenSRS reseller or registrar, that we are not interested in their business. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alex Brecher" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2002 6:46 PM Subject: Spamming > Over the last few months we get almost 100 emails daily from users that were > spammed by people who bought domain names from us.
