George:
you have a super talent for extracting the essence of the issue and I truly
admire your style! I have been pretty much yessing everything you had to say
and would love to have you as our spokesman!
Here is a small contribution to points that might be suitable to Verisign's
WLS Questions:
(feel free to abbreviate/delete or correct my Czech-English to provide a
suitable output for presentation)

1. How does Verisign plan to rectify and answer for it's current flawed and
inadequate processes in domain deletion process from it's position as a
Registrar?
Hoarding expired domains for months or years past the expiration dates:
http://www.eyeondomain.com/_expired-domains.htm
is a list of domains with expiration dates from MARCH 30, 1999 up to FEB 27,
2001 being monitored for our customers. These consumers repeatedly phone,
fax, email to Verisign and ICANN demanding Verisign to release these domains
with no success. We have been assisting our clients in bringing the issue of
Verisign Hoarding Expired Domains for close to 2 years now, see some of our
communication to ICANN's Chief Compliance officer
http://www.eyeondomain.com/_expired_icann.html dated June 2001.

2. How does Verisign justify simply discontinuing domain deletions from it's
position as Registry? We have an extensive list of domains, deleted by
Registrara but not released by the Verisign Registry -such as :
Domain Name: L**.COM
Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC.
Updated Date: 05-nov-2001
--
Domain Name: **.NET
Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC.
Name Server: NS1.***.COM
Updated Date: 20-nov-2001
>>> Last update of whois database: Wed, 6 Feb 2002 17:09:43 EST <<<
We can provide many many many other such examples! (actual domains can be
submitted to a qualified party as they are
currently being monitored for our clients) This practice is viewed as a
direct breach of what was Verisign as a Registry hired to do, maintaining
Registry database in good order.

3. On what premise does Verisign believe they have the right to impose on
Registrar's, Resellers and Registrants it's inadequately
managed systems and further propagate the pain and suffering already caused?
a) Verisign as a Registry has now proven it will stop it's services to
Registrar's and Registrants by unilaterally discontinuing domain deletions
from Registry - case and point January 2002, see question #2
b) Verisign as a Registrar is unable to maintain an up-to-date databases in
it's current state: If Verisign Registrar does not practice domain hoarding,
then those large numbers of domains held months or years past expiration
date (aside for legal disputes) are caused by inadequate database
management. If Verisign Registrar does not practice mail fraud and
intentional erroneous renewal billing and Deactivation Notices on domains
transferred to competing Registrars, then the issue is and inadequate
database management by Verisign Registrar again.
c) Verisign's Customer Service has the worst rating in the industry.
Independent Consumer ratings at Epinions give Verisign Registrar only 3%
approval while other Registrars score more that 15 times higher in Consumer
satisfaction.

Other independent consumer testimonies and media resonate with considerable
level of dissatisfaction with Verisign Domain related services
