Actually, it turns out my assumption here is incorrect, and code promotions are completely invisible.  Probably a glitch, appears the www.opensrs.org site was unavailable briefly (we're updating the site today) which may have been the booboo

We were in the middle of a code promotion, we do our best to ensure no functions are compromised (load balancing, etc); since whois traffic on our load balancers isn't deemed as important (we try to clear cached entries for API/web ports to take a machine out of a pool as quickly as possible, ignoring less important services) you probably caught a box that was being promoted but wasn't actually "in" the server pool.
