My question to you is:

Does your method change all expiration dates to the exact same date?  NO

That is what some of my large clients are looking for.   Again,  you do not
have to use this feature if you don't see any reason for it. I myself, and 1
large customer that we have has already said to call when it is available as
they would like all their domains to expire on one date. That is their
business why, but I know from discussing it with them why. Some people don't
see it that way and that is fine, don't use it. But some people see a peace
of mind to it and want to use the feature if it is ever available...
