Let me clarify this further. Current .nf.ca Registrants are not required to do anything. They can continue to use their current .nf.ca domains and continue to renew them with no interruptions or worries of them not being supported in the future.
If the current .nf.ca Registrants would like to replace their existing .nf.ca domains with .nl.ca they would have to purchase them and let their .nf.ca domains expire. In additon, they have the option of keeping their current .nf.ca domains and purchasing new .nl.ca version. All new .ca domains registrations as of Dec. 3rd 2002 that have the provincial code for "Newfoundland and Labrador" will be registered as .nl.ca. No new .nf.ca domains will be accepted. I hope that clarifies the matter. Somebody quoted the release as saying: >>Current Registrants can keep their .nf.ca domains by continuing to renew >>them or let them expire and replace them with .nl.ca. So it sounds like nobody's forcing anyone to part with their .nf.ca domains or make them buy new ones. Someone also quoted the release as saying: >>The .ca Registry CIRA has stated that Registrants would have to purchase >>new .nl.ca domains. No trade-ins. These two statements appear to contradict one another; my hunch is that this latter sentence is intended to read "...new registrants would have to purchase..." instead of "...registrants would have to purchase new...". -ben -- Ben Kennedy, chief magician zygoat creative technical services 613-228-3392 | 1-866-466-4628 http://www.zygoat.ca
