WHOIS will show the domain status as "REDEMPTIONPERIOD".

I wonder how this can be then:

Domain Name: *******.NET
   Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC.
   Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
   Referral URL: http://www.networksolutions.com
   Status: REDEMPTIONPERIOD
   Updated Date: 07-feb-2003
   Creation Date: 31-dec-1999
   Expiration Date: 31-dec-2002

This seems to have been put into REDEMPTIONPERIOD after 38 days or so, not
45.

Each registrar sets the amount of time after expiry before they issue a DELETE command. Since it's in NetSol's best interests to get domains into the redemption period ($85+ renewal instead of a $20-$35 renewal), they'll probably start deleting sooner rather then later.

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure.
