Thanks Bianca and Gerard for responding! From the amount of response I got
(i.e. only two people) it seems like there is not that many resources yet for
lesson writers. But see below.

I watched Felienne’s talk—less than 1 hr long and it was quite entertaining! I
found out she brought out a lot of the points that are already part of
Carpentry’s Instructor’s training, such as cognitive load, short-term/long-term
memory, and assessment.

I just started Greg’s video; apparently it also mentions a lot of points that
are also contained in the Instructor’s training.
Both videos are excellent, and are recommended watch for everyone! It seems
like our Instructor’s Training lesson would be the first to absorb. Those
writing lessons need to have the key points nailed in their heart and always
critiquing every part of lesson they write in light of these point (e.g. how
much cognitive load do I put on new learners when presenting this one matter,
…?)

Let me research into this some more. I do have need to train people to write
lessons, and perhaps if time permits, I would write something that community
can then gain benefit from.

Subject: [discuss] Lessons for lesson writer
Hi all,

The subject is not a pun. :-) I wonder if there is already a lesson written by
someone in this community (or beyond)--doesn't have to be in the Carpentry
style--on how to write lessons a la Carpenties, i.e. to introduce a new
computing topic to complete novice. I think there is an art to this approach,
because we don't want to bog down new learners with everything there is to know
(even at the novice level), but hit enough points so that learners take away
useful things from the workshop.
