Training individuals at different times sound most challenging to address.
The live-coding workshop atmosphere is really crucial for learners to feel
comfortable asking questions or asking for help. My worry is that any sort
of individualized or self-learning experience is consequently going to
result in gaps. If it's possible to get trainees to workshops held at local
conferences, etc. that might be a workaround to having a workshop
specifically for everyone on the grant.

re: online resources
RStudio has some interactive tutorials set up using their cloud service and
the `learnr` package. They run entirely within the web browser, so might be
