I would recommend against choosing the GPL, since it’s pretty much incompatible 
with everything else.  I think you can’t go wrong with the MIT 3 clause 
license.  The CDDL is also not a bad choice if the code is for illumos or 
solaris.

(Also, if you want your open-source code to be considered kosher by Linux 
zealots and/or Linux kernel developers, you're pretty much stuck with either
