Years ago, I selected two optimal licenses:

-       The CDDL ist the best reciprocal (copy left) license

-       The Apache 2 license is the best academic license

Later this selection was also published by people from opensource.org

Whether you select a copy left icense or an academic license is the main thing 
to do.
