In my experience, the answer to all of your questions is "it depends".
The one constant I have encountered is that agencies tend to be high-throughput while innies tend to be more methodical. So if you like it fast and furious, go to an agency. If you like to follow a defined process (almost) every time, go innie. All a matter of personal preference.
