I work in-house and I can honestly say "it all depends." I, and my coworkers, have gone to great lengths to build awareness throughout the company as to what it is we do and how they can benefit by engaging us. (We are a large company,and unfortunately nothing in place ensuring that new projects come to us before implementation)
Our efforts have been greatly received by some, not so much from others. So for some things we are engaged right from the beginning when someone has that spark of an idea and we collaborate to create really great stuff, other times we are asked just to bless something without really having done anything, and sometimes we aren't engaged at all. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
