Where I work @ Motorola Enterprise Mobility our partners create a lot of voice activation systems. The main application is in item picking (think a warehouse setting) or other finite tasking system.
These systems 1. learn @ the individual level 2. usually include ear piece & boom mic. 3. have short & broad menuing systems that are filtered by role & individual. 4. the worker & the system both go through training This is fairly successful, but also pretty far from mainstream. - dave . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
