When I see my team falling into this trap, I reference the design of seats at fast food restaurants. They are designed to only be comfortable for a short time, they want to get you out as fast as possible, but not so bad that you will not come back.
I have no problem calling it user-centered design if we are designing something to be uncomfortable after 15 minutes. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
