Hi Joe, I wouldn't say there is none or no trained UX people in Shanghai. I might not be the same case from Beijing. In fact, there quite a big community of these professionals in Shanghai. A lot of big names companies like IDEO, HFI, Autodesk, Microsoft, IBM, HP, SAP, etc has their own IxD and UCD people. These teams has been years here.
You can contact IxDA - Shanghai focal Itamar for more information to understand more. IxD Shanghai does organize regular meet-up and seminars. Thanks to Itamar for his hard work. regards, CHAN.
