Precisely. I do a lot of reading and in the books it is always nicely put ideal situations and how things play out. I've also been to my fair share of meetings and been excluded from my fair share as well. If the meetings/critiques are not retaining the integrity of the goals and objectives they pertain to, what is the point? Practice and theory are entirely two different scenarios, take from each what will enhance your value.
I can attest to the take what went well from the meeting and move on. I'd like to also add take what works well with whom. What works for some doesn't work for others. I would like to be a fly on the wall with the different discussions that take place just after the meeting is adjourned. The ones I've been involved in (credible and non) aren't exactly good examples of active listening. ________________________________________________________________ Welcome to the Interaction Design Association (IxDA)!
