Not just the client. It could be something that is only shown to the
developers, like a detailed specification of layout, type, color,
etc., or a sketch. As Andrei says, it is an artifact that should be
checked in under version control.
The fact that it is shared with somebody else in a formal way makes it
a deliverable.
