Hi Michaeal, Yup, fully agree.
Design team (process) is a blackbox, for other part of whole product team. There's input to it and output (deliverbals) from it. The stakeholders may not (most of the time) care what's in the team or process ( some none-final skeches, or similiar stuff), they care what the design team ask(the input), and can afford(the deliverable) that helps building something. For the afford(the deliverable) part, it's better as less but effective as possible while it can offer communicating; for the ask(the input) part it better as rich and clear-goaled (though not always) as possible so as not to miss some important pieces that may harm the construction of mental model and concept design.
