Bill Moggridge's book, Designing Interactions<http://www.amazon.com/Designing-Interactions-Bill-Moggridge/dp/0262134748>, takes this explicit approach--interviewing folks who've had a big impact on the field. It's a pretty fun/interesting read, and there's a DVD w/ interviews, too.
