I would like to mention only one characteristic of slider you
probably do not take into account. Slider has no indication of the
total length of the list behind it. There might be two pages of
messages, and there might be twenty pages. (Contrary to a slider, a
scrollbar does have such an indicator %u2013 this is the size of its
scrollbox.) As a result, %u201Cfastforwarding%u201D or
%u201Cslowforwarding%u201D are simply not possible in case of a
slider, because the user has no indication of the
%u201Cspeed%u201D%u2026
