Whenever I've had a need for a managed switch and it didn't *have* to be a Cisco, I've had more than 10 years worth of experience with HP Procurves, and have yet to have any of them fail. Lifetime free software updates is a huge plus. Their CLI is pretty much a blatant copy of CatOS, so it's not hard to "switch gears" when dealing with them.
