** Personal observation **: I have worn my LOPSA t-shirt in _many_ venues-- each and every single time I have explained what "LOPSA" stood for (when asked), I have received various reactions, but the common thread among EVERY reaction is that their first instinct is that the name (despite Jesse's well-written commentary to the contrary), is "silly". [not just the full name, but the acronym as well].
I concur that something along the lines of "APSA" (Association of Professional System Administrators) or the like MIGHT have been a better choice. The above does NOT detract from my belief in the organization, its mission, its goals.
