Just because Apple manufactures the iPad and iPhone and (forcibly and
voluntarily) maintains the only distribution channel on iOS does not mean they
are free to do whatever they want. This horrible myth needs to die. Apple has
created a marketplace, and now they wish to twist it to their own economic
benefit at the cost of their competitors. It doesn't matter whether the
marketplace occurs in the cathedral or the bazaar, they are all subject to the
same law.

http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Restraint+of+Trade:

"Contracts or combinations that tend, or are designed, to eliminate or stifle
competition, create a Monopoly, artificially maintain prices, or otherwise
hamper or obstruct the course of trade as it would be carried on if it were
left to the control of natural economic forces."
