B&N built the store and all the delivery and sales mechanisms in it, even if 
they don't themselves create all the content that is being displayed and sold.  
If you want to operate your own independent bookstore inside the walls of their 
establishment, then I don't see the problem if they insist that you play by 
their rules.

You don't have to be inside their store if you don't want to be.
