* Mocha RDP for MS' Remote Desktop * Remoter VNC for VNC / ARD iSSH comes with a VNC client but Remoter's is way better, certainly worth the money, and has an in-app purchase option to let you do SSH tunneling. > * iBooks, GoodReader, and Kindle for reading. > Seconded on all. Stanza's not bad either, and while I haven't played with it much, Safari To Go looks promising if you have an O'Reilly Safari subscription. > * Safari for viewing status monitors. > Good to also have a second browser. Mercury works really well and can emulate the headers of lots of browsers, which is convenient. The free version is pretty capable, I have not had to upgrade to paid yet. > * OmniFocus for task management. It's not cheap but it's the best tool > I found for my work flow. OmniFocus is great, I have found Things to be more to my liking. Warning: the sync scheme is terrible. While the developer has promised cloud sync for around 2 years now, they do have a beta for it in the wild now. Until that's ready keeping it in sync is a pain. It's still a great app, tho. > I'm still looking for a good solution for taking and organizing notes. > I've used Evernote, PaperDesk, and Trunk Notes for it so far but haven't > found one that really makes me happy. You may want to give SoundNote a try for meeting notes. Lets you type or draw and simultaneously records the meeting...then you can jump to the part of the recording that syncs with what you were writing at the time. Useful. Other tools I've found useful: * Dropbox - makes you feel like you actually have local storage, lots of apps integrate * Air Display - turns iPad into an additional monitor when you are at your desk * QuickOffice - Very capable Office replacement, opens directly from Google Docs, Dropbox, iDisk, etc * Instapaper - The app is great, offline caches latest 250 articles in Instapaper, terrific for catching up on reading when in transir * Reeder - The same for your RSS feeds * Syncopy -- shared clipboard with your PC, lets you copy and paste from one device to another * SimpleMind+ -- not sure about this yet. Nice mind mapping tool, the sync scheme is a little funny and the PC version costs $$ but it's worked will thus far * Colloquy - Lovely IRC client -Eric
