There's one way to to get the training materials without paying for it, perfectly legal and ethical. But you or your proxy have to be physically present. On the Thursday of the conference, definitely by the Friday morning, USENIX staff looks at the daunting number of boxes of stuff they have to take home, and makes a decision about they are willing to give away (paper in all forms) and what they are willing to discount (clothing and similar goodies). I've picked up *lots* of tutorial material for free, for my peeps back home, via this method.
