3g ( or 4g depending on where you are based ) can be a real option,
specially if the overall numbers are below 100, for tweeting and email
etc. Grab half a dozen 3g routers, get your own Wifi network in place
with a couple of AP's.

on the flip side, many conf venues /hotels forbid you from doing just this
