Same here.

KeePass writes in a specific format that is documented, which means that there are several apps that support that format. It just wants to write to a file, which means that it works with Dropbox and friends.

It is the only "standard" I was able to use on all platforms (Linux, Mac OSX, Android, there are versions for Windows an IOS but I haven't tried them). Using Dropbox vs. a service means that I keep copies of the vault and can switch away from them whenever I want.
