It's a start, but it relies on optional charity. If our true operating
costs are higher that listed dues will cover, it would make more sense to
raise the dues, perhaps offering a reduced rate to those on a limited
income.

But more than regular expenses, it's the one-time repairs that keep getting
paid by the same people over and over. We're very lucky they're so
generous, but I fear it's generating ignorance &/or apathy.

For example, it doesn't effectively matter if anyone washes their own
dishes, so long as Nate washes them every week.

It doesn't matter if the club can't afford to upgrade the security
software, as long as Ian is willing to pay for it.

We don't need to replace filters in the Brita jug if Ron is willing to buy
a watercooler.

That's their club now, not mine or yours.
