I installed and started using AlienBBC with my squeezebox (rev 1) for the first time tonight. I got everything to work ok, except all BBC streams constantly drain the buffer, resulting in a ~5 second hiccup every 20 seconds or so. If I play the same stream using mplayer from the command line this doesn't occur. Any ideas of what I can do to remedy this? Any more information I can provide that will be helpful?
Is this a bandwidth issue over your internet connection? Are you using dial-up or broadband? Do the files play correctly when you play them on your computer from the bbc website?
Thanks.
Details --------------- SlimServer 6.0 Windows 2000 AlienBBC 0.97 MPlayer-mingw32-dev-CVS-050227 When I use Mplayer on the command line it seems to be using "cook3260.dll" codec
Steps ----------------------- - Load up BBC6Live using Alien Stream (I tried it with a number of BBC streams at different times of day, all with the same result. Air America's WMF stream played without a problem). - Buffer fills to about 50% - Buffer slowly goes down to 0% resulting in no sound. - After 5 seconds sound starts playing again with buffer filled to ~75% - Buffer slowly goes to 0% and results in hiccup of sound again. - Repeats
