I'd also be interested in anything Slim could come up with in the handheld market. Until then however, I can strongly recommend the Rio Karma to the typical Slim customer. Some points:
* 20gb * ~16 hour battery life * Supports flac, vorbis, mp3, wma * Fully parametric 5 band EQ * Fantastic sound quality * Docking station has line out RCAs & ethernet connection * Supports loading music from any Java & Ethernet supporting platform (e.g. Linux, MacOS, etc) * Has a built in webserver (although no one's done much with it yet) * Nice UI, lots of search methods, MANY options for the tweakers * Supports FULLY GAPLESS playback for flac, vorbis and lame mp3s * VU meters ala SB2 :) * Hardware & firmware designers/developers regularly hang out on user forums, just like this one It's approaching EOL (sadly) but that means there are some excellent deals around. I've had one for over a year, but I'm thinking of picking up a second one as a spare. About the only things it's missing are a remote control and digital out. (Disclaimer: I don't work for them or anything, just a very happy customer and anti-iSheep!) -- radish _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
